Bring Them Home

Characters Featured: Asriel Dreemurr (he/him), Chara Dreemurr (they/them)

I completely free-handed this thing and I have no idea how. I just got possessed and drew 90% of this in one night. The only thing I really had to finish the next morning was the flowers and the colors. Returning undertale/deltarune hyperfixation gives me powers, I guess!

Anyway, I have tentatively titled this the 'Bring them home' AU, which is my personal interpretation of Frisk bringing Asriel to the surface, and giving up on resets in the process. Which they do via giving Asriel custody of what's left of Chara's soul, as I am a firm believer in narrator Chara. Without the extra boost of determination, full resets are no longer possible for either party. Some minor death-cheating with saves is still possible, probably.

Anyways, a combination of Asriel's magic and Chara's determination is what's holding their souls together, and keeping them both alive. So now the two of them have a pseudo-DID thing going on where they share the body! I've also considered the other souls also being a part of this back-from-the-dead system as well... maybe I'll write something about it someday.
