Some alternate versions of this piece that came from me messing around with different layer effects. I think it’s one of my favorite things to do with finished pieces, tbh. I wasn’t sure what to do for the image descriptions here, so I hope they aren’t too long. Please let me know if I should change anything.

Diamonds Droog and Pi hold each other in a gentle embrace, almost as if they were slow dancing, in front of an evening sky full of stars. Their foreheads are nearly pressed together. The sky fades from black and dark red on the left behind Droog, to shades of blue that grow lighter the closer they get to Pi on the right.
Diamonds droog is a carapacian, a bald humanoid alien with a shelled carapace covering his entire body. He is wearing a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a suit vest, slacks and a tie. His eyes are a solid color, and his expression is faint and hard to read, but he is still looking at Pi with uncharacteristic fondness. His clawed hands are wrapped around Pi’s waist.
Pi is a white human man with messy, short hair, and sparse freckles. He is wearing a turtleneck sweater, glasses, and slacks. He is blushing heavily, and looking up at Droog with a fond, wobbly smile. One of his hands rests on Droog’s shoulder, and the other gently cups the back of Droog’s head. A small halo of stars floats over Pi’s head in the background.
This version of the piece has only the lineart, slightly transparent and overlayed onto the background. Pi’s lineart is in very light blue, and Droog’s is in dark red. END ID.
